UPDATE: Brownrice Internet reports the issue was actually a network problem, a problem with the cable, and they are going to replace it shortly with a new cable, will be a short blip outage as they perform switchover.

    mind.sh/are temporarily offline

One of the downsides of using a funky domain name like mind.sh is that many of the smaller domain registrars in the world that control lesser known domain extensions (like ‘.sh’) don’t have as good service, support, or security as the more established TLD registrars.

Earlier today some jerk from Name.com hijacked our domain name by changing our nameservers, even though we already renewed the domain through 2017 with nic.sh. I’ve gone in and corrected the issue, but it will take a while before our site comes back online. I have also requested that the people over at nic.sh double check that we are the only ones with access to our domain name. Name.com is not our registrar and has no business altering any setting on the domain mind.sh.

Name.com seems sketchy and I will warn my clients against using their service.

UPDATE: The issue has been isolated to two problem domains and should not affect any other sites at this time.
